Safeway + Open Nature = Deliciousness

I don’t often get product review opportunities, and usually when I do find an email about one, I skim it and delete it because there’s really nothing in it for me and they’re usually products I don’t care about at all. But when I got an email about Safeway’s Open Nature products, I replied right away with YES, PLEASE!

I saw the envelope containing the coupons and gift cards in the mailbox as I was heading to pick the girls up from school, and looked through the contents as I was waiting for them to come to the van. Kaylie wanted to have a friend over (which brought my total to five children), and Noah was working late. It seemed like perfect timing for something easy. I stopped by Safeway on the way back to the house and picked up Beef Lasagna, Vanilla Greek Frozen Yogurt, and Strawberry Ice Cream, all in the Open Nature brand.

When it comes to what you eat, you have high standards. That’s why Open Nature was developed. We use the best that nature has to offer and let its delicious taste shine through. We keep the ingredients and recipes simple and we don’t use any artificial ingredients in our products — ever. We’re proud of what’s in our food. That’s why we list our ingredients on the front of the package. We want you to feel confident that when you choose Open Nature, you’ll always be eating food that’s simple, real, and delicious.

The best thing that I noticed about the Beef Lasagna, while it was cooking, was that I could pronounce and recognize every single one of the ingredients. They’re all real ingredients. I’ve had below-average frozen lasagna in the past and therefore very rarely buy it, but this one blew me away. It was delicious. It was a nice surprise.

Kaylie’s friend and Liliana gobbled up the Vanilla Greek Frozen Yogurt after dinner and immediately asked for more, while Kaylie and I had the Strawberry Ice Cream. And then we had a little bit more because it was so delicious. Both the ice cream and the frozen yogurt also had all recognizable ingredients. I like this brand!

A couple days later, I picked up a Pepperoni Pizza and Pepperoni sticks, again in the Open Nature brand. I’ll just admit to it now, we eat a lot of pizza here. Thin crust pizzas, like the Open Nature one, are my very favourite. This one was no exception. And the pepperoni sticks magically disappeared before the pizza was ready.

We’ve tried a couple more of their products, and have liked every single one. I gotta say, I’m a huge fan of Open Nature. We’re at Safeway a couple times a week, since there’s one just down the street, and their products now frequent our grocery basket. I highly recommend you try them. Right now.

The Tzatziki Dip is next on my list.

Disclosure: Safeway provided me with coupons and gift cards for their products.
