I planted things and they are growing. This, in and of itself, is a miracle. Watching things grow? Best therapy ever.
I really have no idea what I’m doing, but last fall I kept the seeds from our one and only pumpkin. I followed the directions on a website somewhere, and washed, dried, and kept the seeds. Six days ago, Liliana and I planted them. Last night, the first one started coming up.
I was shocked that they’d actually sprouted and grown. There’s four or five of them that are making their way out of the soil. By planting time, I’ll have too many and will be looking for good homes for them. (Anyone local interested in pumpkin seedlings?)
Our landlord came this morning to check out our broken fridge, and I was transplanting the cucumbers when he walked in. He gave me some tips as he stood by the door. He said something about giving me advice, and I was like, no! It’s all good! Bring it on! I need all the help I can get!
Here’s hoping I didn’t kill the cucumbers by transplanting them, and here’s hoping for many pumpkins in the fall to make my husband a happy, happy man.
ps. Thank you SO MUCH to all who have donated to Cystic Fibrosis Canada in Ronan’s name. I’ve exceeded my personal goal, and your donations are helping to meet Ronan’s parents’ monetary goal, and hopefully, eventually, the goal of finding a cure for CF. Thank you!
