Watching some X-Files with my Dottery X-Files mug of honey-lemon "tea" (honey + lemon + hot water). I want this cold/flu to GO AWAY NOW, PLEASE.

I’ve been doing a lot of this lately. Drinking honey lemon tea. Or, my version of it, which is basically honey and lemon and hot water. It’s working miracles on my cold/flu/sickness. Today I’m following some advice and adding a ton of garlic (not to my tea, but to whatever I eat). I am so done with the being sick thing.

Anyway, you don’t want to read about sickness. That is quite boring. So how about Christmas baking? I have only done a little bit of it, what with all the sickness and the fact that it is December and December hates me, but I’ve been trying to do some. Noah’s been doing a lot for me lately, and I need some way to pay him back. December is one of his favourite months of the year. He loves Christmas, as you all know, and Christmasy treats are part of the whole shebang. Treats like:

Peanut Butter Marshmallow Squares
Peanut butter marshmallow bars that I made yesterday and cannot eat today. My husband better love them!

Mocha Nut Balls
Mocha nutballs.

Naniamo Bars
bars of nanaimo

Next on Noah’s list is Shortbread. I’m hoping to make some tonight if my kids go to bed on time again. (All three of them were in bed and asleep by 8:30 last night. That hasn’t happened in FOREVER. I won’t say whose fault that is, PRESTON.)

My very favourite Christmas recipe, though, is the one for speculaas cookies. I have the recipe up at Work It! Mom today. Check it out! Make some! Thank me later!

ps. Happy Birthday, Mom!
