the ants go marching

I was attempting to clear out some of the dang weeds that have been taking over my garden when I came upon an ant nest. I think they love the covering on the soil. Though they also congregate in places without covering, so maybe they’re just jerks who love stealing my seeds. This was a nest of red ants, of which I am so not a fan.

I texted Noah to start a kettle of water, and then I found this scene going on:

Creepy little buggers, right? Apparently they move fast when they’re being threatened.

Well, shortly after the video was shot, I poured boiling water all over them. Because I’m evil. And because doing so seemed to work well with the other nests I’ve found.

Now if only I could find a way to kill ALL THE MOSQUITOES. I don’t think throwing boiling water in the air is going to do it.
