I’m one of those people who, when they have way too much to do, gets overwhelmed and ends up doing absolutely nothing. I make giant lists of things I need to do, and then I do none of them. Instead, I do things like make microwave s’mores. And make/eat 12 batches of cinnamon buns. And drink coffee even though it gives me an instant panic attack that completely incapacitates me for hours. I make plans to get up early and do productive things, but then stay up way too late watching New Girl re-runs, or X-files marathons even though I really shouldn’t watch X-files after dark, and end up turning off my alarm.
I’m not the brightest.
There are three laundry baskets of clean clothes on my couch, with another to be taken out of the dryer. My garden is overrun with weeds. My kitchen counter is covered in dishes. My table is littered with clutter. I haven’t gotten dressed since Sunday.
But I’ve crocheted a few rows on a blanket that’s taken me over a year to make so far, and at this rate will likely take me another 15 years to complete. I’m on level 383/400 of Cover Orange and have downloaded Cover Orange 2. I’ve basically looked at every single item on the IKEA website. I’ve listed a single item on kijiji. And I’ve dyed my hair blue. Not on purpose.
I made myself a do-able list for today and even set myself an alarm. Shouldn’t be too hard to accomplish a few simple tasks, right?
Here’s where you say, RIGHT.
ps. Happy 33rd Birthday, Harry Potter.
